This is a Tutorial by Jeroen van Oostrom on how to make your nickname and/or chat show up above
a Studio Avatar. This will require hand coding.
But not to worry, we provided the code for you to copy and paste. There
are only 3 steps, so what can go wrong?
Behind every Step: (around line #) This stands for the line number where you can find the code in your file. Keep in mind that every Avatar is different and with that so are the line numbers.
Use the pictures to see where the code goes.
You will need a VRML Editor. Your basic Text- and Note-pad
does not support VRML. But you can find them under
3D
Modeling
Here are some basic hotkeys so you can work faster. To
copy=Ctrl+C, select all=Ctrl+A, cut=Ctrl+X and to
paste=Ctrl+V. OK, let´s get started building.
Step1: (around line 26) Add this code as shown on the picture below.
(click the thumbnail to enlarge the picture)
Step2: (around line 43) Here we have 3 options. You
can only display your nickname above your head, you can only
display your chat above your head or do both. The chat will
not be shown to others when you whisper. Only the person you
whisper with will see it. Your secrets are safe.
