SECURE YOUR PC

Step 1. First of all you need to check if your PC is free of spyware. For this you need a program called Spybot
Follow the steps Spybot tells you to take. If Spybot after cleaning asks you to restart, select YES.

Step 2. When Spybot has finished I recommend you download Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition.

It basicly does the same as Spybot but it sometimes finds things Spytbot doesn't and the other way around. This program is free too.
Step 3. Now that your PC is free of spyware you need to get your Windows updated. You will get a security window you normaly have to answer with NO but this time we approve it and say yes. Make sure you download all the updates!
Step 4. To make it more difficult to have Viruses and Spyware install themselves on your PC you can download one of the Free Anti-Virus programs we listed on our site http://vrml.alleyweb.co.uk
We can recommend Free AVG.

Step 5. Besides the Anti-Virus you need a good Firewall. Again you can select a free one from our site, listed under security.
A Firewall controls who and what is trying to access your pc but not less important also what program is trying to connect from your computer to the internet. We can recommend Free ZoneAlarm.
There are new viruses and spyware created daily. It is a sort of race between makers and defenders. This is why you need to update your programs atleast once a week. This way you stand a better chance staying safe.
